At Lift Shafton staff are inspirational people who are committed to providing an outstanding education for all children. Lift Shafton is a very caring community. We embrace our lovely village and our families but also feel part of our larger family Lift Schools. We are a small village school which allows us to really get to know each and every one of our children. In turn, they feel a strong sense of belonging. After securing funding from the DfE, we are excited to open our new nursery in January 2026. We will be offering 20 term-time spaces, divided into two daily sessions, specifically designed for three to four year olds. Our nursery aims to provide a nurturing environment where young children can begin their educational journey with a strong foundation. The curriculum will focus on play-based learning, encouraging creativity, social skills, and early literacy and numeracy. We believe that these formative years are crucial for development, and our dedicated staff are committed to fostering a love for learning from the very start.
Our trust is made up of 57 primary, secondary and special schools, educating more than 33,000 pupils across the country – from Middlesbrough in the north to Devon in the west, Essex in the east and the Isle of Wight in the south. The majority of our schools are rated ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.
