We're delighted to announce that Shafton Primary Academy has received funding to create 20 new full-time nursery places for three and four year olds, available from January.
This investment will transform existing space and build a fantastic new outdoor area, providing a high-quality, nurturing environment for our youngest learners. It's a wonderful opportunity for your child to gain a strong foundation for their future learning journey right here within our school.
Places are limited! Register your interest today to secure a spot for your child.
Starting nursery is an exciting milestone for children and parents alike. We aim to make the transition as smooth and positive as possible. Our team will work closely with you to help your child settle in and feel secure in their new environment.
Children attending our nursery are encouraged to wear a school uniform to help them feel part of the school community. We recommend simple, comfortable clothing and easy-to-manage footwear to support independence. A spare set of clothes should be kept on your child’s peg in case a change is needed. Please visit our uniform page to find out more.
Our nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five years. We focus on developing key skills through play, exploration and active learning. The EYFS is built around these prime areas of learning:
Children will take part in a mix of adult-led activities and independent learning opportunities, designed to help them grow and explore at their own pace.
Your child’s safety is our priority. All gates and entrances are secured during the day, and children are always supervised during play and learning activities. Staff are trained in safeguarding procedures, and two members of staff will be present at dismissal times.
We encourage healthy eating habits from an early age. Children have access to a snack table with milk, water, fruit and crackers throughout the day. Full-time children can bring a packed lunch or have a meal prepared on-site using a seasonal menu.
We value the knowledge and insights you have about your child. Our nursery team will work in partnership with you to support your child’s development and learning journey. Regular communication will help us to understand your child’s needs and celebrate their progress together.
Our nursery offers flexible sessions to suit your family’s needs:
We accept 15-hour and 30-hour government funding and offer additional paid sessions where needed. Please contact the school office for further details about availability and fees.
We are excited to welcome your child to our nursery and look forward to helping them grow and thrive in a warm and supportive environment.
